Philosophy | NorthWest Arkansas Community College

Philosophy courses shift the way you think about the nature of the world, the universe, society and human thought. You'll learn methods of questioning, critical discussion and rational argument concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind and language.

Philosophy also helps you develop critical and logical thinking skills, so you can decide what is and what is not true. It encompasses not only logic but a moral and ethical means of understanding.

Philosophy courses can fulfill general education requirements for many of NWACC's degree paths and be transferred to a four-year university.

If you decide to transfer and pursue a bachelor's degree in philosophy, you can find employment opportunities in science, education, business, government and more.
