NWACC's Social & Behavioral Sciences programs can help you start the career you want in a broad range of fields. Whether you're ready to make an impact on your community, work with children as an advocate, or protect and uphold the law as a paralegal, you'll find the program for you.
You can work towards earning credits for an associate of applied science, a technical certificate, a certificate of proficiency or transfer degree plan or earn credits in general education courses like anthropology, history, philosophy, psychology, geography, social work, sociology and more.

Courses
Engage in enriching social and behavioral science courses to gain critical thinking skills while examining current issues or past events in the fields of anthropology, geography, history, philosophy, political science and more.
Holocaust Awareness Project
NWACC's Social & Behavioral Science Division created the NorthWest Arkansas Holocaust
Awareness Project (NAHAP) task force, which organizes public lectures and educator
workshops focused on Holocaust knowledge and mass violence awareness.
NWA History Day
NWACC's Social and Behavioral Science Division and the University of Arkansas Special
Collections host an annual Region 10 History Day Competition in March. Students in 3rd -12th grade from regional schools compete by choosing a
historical topic related to the year's theme.
