Placement and NWACC Tests
Use NWACC's testing center to take placement tests, online and make-up exams, the biological concepts exam and more.
The testing center is a weapons free zone. Please leave your weapon in your vehicle. If NWACC is closed, the testing center is closed. Notifications are posted on the NWACC homepage.

State law requires a placement test that demonstrates academic preparedness in reading, writing, and math. NWACC accepts ACT or Accuplacer. Study materials and practice tests are available.
The Accuplacer is a self-paced computerized exam offered in-person or through an online remote proctoring service called Meazure Learning. Please see the information below for information about all options for testing.
IN-PERSON ACCUPLACER TESTING ON THE BENTONVILLE CAMPUS
- Appointments are required. Proctoring for this exam is offered Mon. -Thursday from 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. (last test is seated at 6 p.m.) and Friday – Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (last test seated at 11 a.m.).
- Accuplacer fee is $10 per exam. All payments must be made through the link below. Cash is not accepted. Once payment is received, you will receive an email confirmation of your appointment. Seating is limited so same day appointment requests will not be honored.
- Students are provided scratch paper and a calculator is built into the test. Students may NOT bring their own materials.
- There is no time limit.

IN-PERSON ACCUPLACER TESTING ON THE WASHINGTON COUNTY
CAMPUS
- Accuplacer testing will be offered at the Washington County campus
from January 6, 2025 – January 23, 2025. - Appointments are required. Proctoring for this exam is offered Mon. -
Thursday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. (last test is seated at 2:30 p.m.) - Accuplacer fee is $10 per exam. All payments must be made through
the link below. Cash is not accepted. Once your purchase is
processed, you will receive an email confirmation of your appointment.
Seating is limited so same day appointment requests will not be
honored. - Students are provided scratch paper and a calculator is built into the
test. Students may NOT bring their own materials. - There is no time limit.
VIRTUAL ACCUPLACER TESTING THROUGH MEAZURE LEARNING
- Students will need a device for testing (desktop computer, laptop, or Chromebook), a steady internet connection, webcam, microphone and a distraction-free environment.
- Accuplacer fee is $10 per exam. An additional proctor fee of $28 will be paid to Meazure Learning per testing appointment.
- Once payment is received, you will receive an email from Accuplacer with directions on setting up an appointment through Meazure Learning.
- There is no time limit.

Accuplacer has a free mobile study app that can be downloaded to your devices. There are online study guides and practice tests available also. It is highly advisable that you refresh your skills before taking this placement test.

Biological Concepts
- Assessment of biological knowledge as a prerequisite option for BIOL 1544, which is required for Anatomy and Physiology I.
- The computerized test consists of sixty multiple choice questions. A score of 23 is needed in order to pass.
- One re-test is allowed.
- Assessment of French or Spanish language to test into Elementary II or Intermediate
language classes without the pre-requisites
- This is a paper-based exam that is untimed, but takes most people about an hour. This
exam is offered Monday – Thursday from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Friday – Saturday from
8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- Once taken, the exam will be given to the foreign language department for evaluation.
The Foreign Language department will communicate placement results to testers.
