Junior Merchant Program | High School Concurrent
Through NWACC's Junior Merchant Program (JMP), concurrent junior and senior high school students and recent high school graduates are able to learn about different retail career paths in Northwest Arkansas (NWA), whether working for a retailer such as Walmart or Harp's, a supplier or a small business.
As a high school student taking JMP concurrent courses, you will learn about retail industry foundations, retail terminology, computer systems, and e-commerce, and be exposed to retail analytics and supply-chain management - all necessary for a career in the retail industry. You will gain exposure to industry professions and gain first-hand experience by interning at a retailer corporate office and/or at a supplier office in NWA.
You can gain course credits that can be transferred to NWACC for an associate degree and/or transferred to a four-year institution for a bachelor’s degree - all at an affordable cost. There are no fees for out-of-district students.
JMP is open to all high school juniors and seniors. Contact retail@nwacc.edu for more information.
